Edgewater Resort & Waterpark
In 2004, ZMC Hotels demolished 45 rooms of the Best Western Edgewater complex in Duluth, Minnesota and began construction of a 30,000 sq ft indoor waterpark, The Edge, a first for northern Minnesota. The new outdoor pool and hot tub overlooking Lake Superior were completed mid-2005. The waterpark opened December 2005. Along with the waterpark, the Edgewater also built a 65-room addition, an arcade, 3 new meeting spaces, and a full menu grill. This property became a non-franchised resort in 2006 - the Edgewater Resort & Waterpark. Also in 2006, a portion of the original hotel became the Edgewater Express - a modest hotel for corporate, medical and senior guests. Our independent online reservations for the Edgewater Resort & Waterpark surpassed the number of previous franchise online and central reservations combined.
