Mark started his professional real estate career in 1982 when he joined the Western U.S. Division of New York-based Tishman Management and Leasing Corporation, which at the time, was California’s largest owner/operator of urban core high-rise office buildings. Mark left Tishman in 1987 and began assembling investor groups to acquire distressed commercial property during the market downturn of the late eighties and early nineties. In 1992, he acquired a 50% interest in his father’s property management business. By the year 1999, when Mark completed his acquisition of 100% of the newly re-named Hall Equities Group, Mark had transformed the organization into a diversified full-service income property investor, developer, and property manager. Today, Mark’s activities encompass a broad variety of ventures in the ownership, development, and operations of many different property types in markets across the United States, including hotels, shopping centers, apartment complexes, master planned communities, self-storage facilities, medical and skilled nursing facilities, life science laboratories, industrial warehouses, office buildings, and sports training facilities.
