ZMC Hotels, LLC was selected to manage the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Pell City and the Candlewood Suites by IHG Oxford, Alabama, which recently broke ground. Both hotels are expected to open roughly in January 2025. These additions will bring ZMC Hotels’ portfolio to 49 hotels under management.
The TownePlace Suites by Marriott will be an extended-stay hotel with 89 rooms located in Pell City, AL between Atlanta and Birmingham. Lake Logan Martin, a reservoir on the Coosa River borders much of the city and provides year-round water recreation. In 2011, a state-of-the-art hospital, St. Vincent St. Clair, was built making it a medical destination for the area. Jefferson State Community College is located here, and the city was established as a state cultural center with the Pell City Center for Education and the Performing Arts. The hotel will also see an influx of guests due to its proximity to the Talladega Superspeedway.
The Candlewood Suites by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will be a 91-room all-suites, extended stay hotel in Oxford located right along Interstate Highway 20. Oxford lies just outside the boundaries of the Talladega National Forest. Choccolocco Park is a draw for sports enthusiasts with its more than 300-acre state-of-the-art sports complex, amenities for baseball, softball, track, cross country, and soccer, along with walking & biking trails, and many natural resources.
